Steps to create a new XP OEM CD. Handy if you’ve lost the vendor’s original CD, and you want to use the key that’s on the physical PC. Using a retail or MSDN CD won’t help, as your key won’t be accepted. Steps below:
1. Copy the full CD contents to your hard drive
2. Point nLite to your source as per above, and configure to your heart’s content.
3. Modify the ‘Pid’ number in the file "setupp.ini" to match the key you’re looking to use (note the double ‘P’ in the file name) . It resides in the I386 folder. See below for a list of PID keys.
I’ve read that the CD Label sometimes needs to match the version of Windows on the disc in order for the installation to work. See below also for a list of CD labels
4. Burn/Create ISO and install.

User Error 
I am trying to create OEM CD for IPEX Computers (Australia). I don’t find the CDLABEL for that company.
I recently bought two IPEX PCs and bothhave COA sticker with Software key on them.

I haven’t looked at an IPEX PC for years, so I can’t help you out unfortunately. What i’d do is try the HP/Dell one. That’s the most common one on the list. At worst you’ll have a few coasters.

Funny that someone should comment on this post now. I was just reviewing it myself yesterday.
I came across a weird issue; if you’re trying to integrate XP SP3 into your XP CD manually or using NLite, don’t do it from a Vista machine. It will integrate successfully, but it will no longer accept your product key. The solution is to integrate the service pack while using a Windows XP machine.

I just received a computer from my uncle. I reformatted the hard drive. Unforunately I have notice that the windows xp home OEM cd is not where to be found. I have the AOC. Is there any idea of where I can download a copy of this OEM cd?

I’ve tried both and amended 1)these above files and WINNT.ini/sff files &, used 2)both the Product ID supplied on this HP SFF d530, XP Pro box & the Msoft suppied PID Keys, using, 3) nLite compiled iso’s but none of the many work after integration? I am unable to 4) save the current bios which is still showing at 786B2 v1.11 despite many attempts and 5)formatted the hard disk (full zero wipe) & made this, 6) a 0x12 (Compaq) disk/drive but nothing works, it’s as if the OS/Bios are locked & both need to be released? Like many others, I keep getting the product keys are not correct. Please assist?

PS: i tried to reinstall XP Home on an Asus T2-AE1 box despite M/soft site stating that XP Home does not require M/soft supplied product keys to be integrated but only appllies to XP Pro, & above, but this too does not work?

Hello to all.
I have a Fujitsu Lifebook T4210 and a couple years ago it suffered a severe crash and all data was lost. I have a legal copy of Windows XP Pro. and I need help in recreating an oem version for tablet pc installation. Any help that anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Harold. I have access to some OEM Fujitsu XP CDs at work. If I remember, I’ll see what I can dig up for you. Might be able to just image one of them and give you a link to the ISO.

Thank you so much it has been about two years since I’ve used the computer, and I don’t want to get rid of a gift that was given to me by a friend of mine. Also until I am able to afford the latest replacement I need it up and running to do some home and possible future online work. I am using my girlfriend’s computer to do some research on fixing the issue but to do what I want to do I want use no-one’s property but my own, and again thank you for all your effort.

Interesting post this one – like so many others I’m trying to resurrect my 2004 HP laptop, and lost that most precious of CDs. I can’t believe it – I still have the cover, and the drivers disk and everything else that shipped with the machine, but lost the important one (sigh).
Of course getting the OEMs is proving very difficult, so I’ll give this method a bash and hopefully get sorted. (now just got to find an old XP Pro cd around my friends)
